Quick response from a pair of area fire departments was able to stop a blaze near Quesnel yesterday from becoming much worse.
At around 9:00 in the morning, crews from the West Fraser volunteer Fire Department were called out to the fire on Kupferschmidt road.
When they arrived, they found a garage at the back of the residence fully engulfed in flames.
With the help of the Quesnel Volunteer Fire Department, crews were able to limit the blaze to just the garage.
While the garage suffered significant damage, the home remained relatively unharmed, and the interior untouched.
According to the property owner, the blaze may have been caused by a heat lamp used for chickens.
