As Covid cases balloon across the province, Interior Health has released new guidelines informing residents on when to get tested.
A Covid-19 test is not recommended for those who: are not showing symptoms, or are fully vaccinated and only showing mild symptoms which can be managed at home.
A Covid test is recommended if: you are experiencing fever, chills, cough, a loss of smell or taste, or difficulty breathing.
A test is also recommended if you have experienced the following for more than 24 hours with no improvement: sore throat, loss of appetite, head or body aches, extreme fatigue, nausea, or diarrhea.
If you are unsure whether or not to get tested, you can call 8-1-1.
Beginning this week, Interior Health will start providing rapid tests to those experiencing symptoms, according to risk factor.
