Both the Transportation Safety Board and WorkSafeBC are investigating a tugboat crash along the northcoast from last week.
On the evening of November 2nd, the Cadal, a tugboat operated by Wainwright Marine Services, crashed in to Rix Island.
The boat was on its way to Kemano from Kitimat at the time of the crash.
According to reports, crew members had been finishing their dinner when they noticed the vessel was on a crash course for the beach.
Wainwright determined human error to be the cause of the crash, though crew members say the working conditions and training levels on the vessel were sub-par.
The crash took place around the same area as a February crash which claimed two lives.
Now, experts are calling for improved safety measures in the area, as the official investigation in to the incident is on-going.
