Indigenous residents in the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako now have a new representative who will help to strengthen government relationships.
Taddea Kunkel was announced as the Regionald District’s new First Nations Liaison during a Burns Lake based meeting last week.
Kunkel recently served as forestry initiative coordinator for Quesnel, and brings experience with Natural Resources Canada as well.
In her new role, Kunkel will aim to build relationships with local First Nations groups, gather and provide Indigenous input, and identify areas in which the District and those groups can work together.
Portions of the funding for the Liaison position come from the Healthy Communities stream of the Northern Development Initiative Trust fund.
