In one of the largest cabinet shuffles ever by a re-elected government, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced his new cabinet this morning.
Thirty out of Thirty-eight Cabinet members will fill new roles following the shuffle, whether they be first-timers or just changing positions.
After facing a slew of criticism from Indigenous groups, Carolyn Bennett is out as Minister of Crown-Indigenous Relations.
She will switch to Minister of Mental Health and Addictions, while also ranking fourth in the Federal hierarchy.
Marc Miller will fill the role in her place, while Patty Hajdu will take his former spot as Minister of Indigenous Services, among other roles.
As for the unfilled DFO position, Vancouver-Quadra MP Joyce Murray breaks the trend of East Coasters filling the spot as she becomes the new Minister of Fisheries, Oceans, and the Canadian Coast Guard.
