A fundraiser for a woman who tragically passed away in a motor vehicle collision in Smithers last week has surpassed half its goal.
Last Wednesday, a motorhome crashed in to a car outside the Canadian Tire on Highway 16.
Tonya Horsfield, the driver of the car, was killed as a result, and her 13 year-old son injured and flown to Vancouver for medical attention.
Tonya’s husband and his sister then set up a GoFundMe to cover medical and funeral expenses, as well as financial support for the family.
Now, the fundraiser has amassed nearly 30 thousand dollars of its 50 thousand dollar goal.
