Earlier today, the Wet’suwet’en sent a request to the Ministry of Health and Northern Health requesting access to Covid booster shots.
That request came after two members passed away and four matriarchs tested positive.
Now, the Carrier Sekani Tribal Council has issued a letter of support for the Wet’suwet’en in their efforts to protect their people from the virus.
The BC Assembly of First Nations issued their own request to make boosters immediately available for First Nations communities.
Many First Nations communities are smaller and more remote, meaning Covid can have quicker and more significant impacts on communities.
