A new scam has popped up in the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George.
Numerous reports of fraudulent calls have been reported to the District over the past few days, prompting a public warning.
In the scam, residents receive a call which appears to be from the District, asking for personal information, such as a social insurance number, or credit card.
Now, the District wants to remind residents that it will never initiate a phone call which would request such information.
If you receive a call from the District and are uncertain of its validity, you are instructed to hang up, and call them back at 250-960-4400.
