Covid has put a damper on a planned Prince George gathering to honour Truth and Reconciliation Day.
Soaring Covid cases in the north have prompted the event, in Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park to be significantly scaled back.
Vendors have been canceled, as have a number of speeches and other events.
Event organizers say the celebrations had to be restricted because they don’t want to encourage large gatherings at a time like this.
A scaled down informal drumming circle and walk will still be held at the Park in honour of tomorrow’s holiday.
