Seven Indigenous organizations are set to get an influx of funding in honour of Truth and Reconciliation Day.
BMO has selected the organizations to split the 600 thousand dollar donation via their Indigenous Advisory Council.
Selected organizations focus on promoting healing for Residential School survivors, advancing cultural reclamation, and language and cultural education.
Of the funding, the largest chunk, 250 thousand dollars, will go to the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation, who provide grant funding to Indigenous-led projects.
The rest will be split between The Indigenous Learning Centre, The Orange Shirt society, Indspire, the Kaska Dena Youth Camp, the Gitpo Spirit Lodge, and the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte First Nation.
