Record Breaking Vessel Docks at Port of Prince Rupert

On Wednesday, a visiting vessel to the Port of Prince Rupert did it’s best to prove that size does matter.

With a carrying capacity of 15,000 Twenty-Foot Equivalent Units, the Port played host to the largest ship ever to utilize the Fairview Container Terminal.

That vessel was the MSC AURIGA of the Santana Service, which docked at the terminal on Wednesday, and departed yesterday.

It breaks the previous record, set in 2017 at 14,500 TEUs by the COSCO Himalayas vessel.
