Water Quality Advisory Issued In Kitimat

A water quality advisory is now in place in Kitimat.

Elevated turbidity levels in the Kitimat River have prompted the District to issue the advisory for all those using the Kitimat Community Water System.

Northern Health is recommending that the elderly, pregnant women, and those with weakened immune systems boil water before consuming.

Owners of public premises must also make all patrons aware of the advisory.

While there is currently no evidence of a heightened risk level, more testing must be conducted to verify this.
