A two day hearing begun in Ottawa today which will see the BC Civil Liberties Association take on the RCMP.
According to the Association, the RCMP show a serious and systemic culture of complacency in tackling complaints against themselves.
They say RCMP Commissioner Brenda Lucki has a history of stalling when responding to complaints against the force.
During the hearing, the Association focused in on a 2017 Civilian Review and Complaints Commission report.
That report looked in to police spying on anti-oil protesters, and reportedly took years and a court order to have Lucki respond to the report.
They allege that acts such as this violate the RCMP Act.
