An announcement on Friday made it known that The Ministry of Education will be sending the Dog Creek Elementary Junior Secondary School funding so they can build a brand new playground.
The School’s Principal, Steve Carpenter, gave his own statement saying that the School receiving this funding is good news and that exact amount of money that the School is getting for the playground is $165,000.
Carpenter has been the school’s principal since 2019 and he also stated that the playground is often used by community members outside of School hours.
How the new playground will be built is expected to be revealed soon and the school is hoping that it will be ready for use by the start of the next school year.
