Forestry workers from across BC have come together to help educate people on their efforts to quell climate change.
In honour of National Forest Week, the Forest Enhancement Society of BC are releasing a video highlighting their strategy.
In the video, the Society`s Executive Director Steve Kozuki, says they want to work with people from First Nations, industry, and local communities that are doing innovative forestry work.
He says the Society focuses on two main approaches: adapt, or take action.
Part of adaptation means learning to better manage droughts, wildfires, floods, and other major events.
As far as taking action is concerned, he explains how they are exploring nature-based solutions, fertilization, and advanced carbon modelling.
They have also been reducing the burning of wood waste, as well as planting new trees through collaborative projects.
In total, the society collaborated to plant 70 million trees in the past 5 years.
Happy National Forest Week from UK!
My colleges and I, as sustainability adopters, enforce people to celebrate National Forest Years (lol) – simply means taking the forest-made paper out of our lives by employing paperless policy. For those, who are not sure of paperless benefits – here is great fresh piece related – https://fluix.io/blog/sowing-seeds-for-a-sustainable-future-with-paperless-workflows
