Kitimat to Make Public Notice on LNG Canada Land Occupation Agreement

Residents of Kitimat will soon have the opportunity to have their thoughts heard on a new land occupation agreement.

During their regular meeting this week, Council made their intentions to issue the public notice clear.

The proposed plan would revise a Minette Bay Upland Owner`s consent agreement to allow an occupation license to be given to LNG Canada.

This would allow LNG Canada to occupy and access over District of Kitimat land at Minette Bay for 15 years.

According to Council, the intent of the occupation would be to monitor the salt marshes in the area.
