The Northwest Fire Centre is now lifting their very own ban on Category 2 and 3 fires on September 7th.
As stated, both Category 2 and 3 fires and going to be allowed, and fireworks, firecrackers and sky lanterns are now legal to use again as well.
The fire centre sent out a statement saying that the reason they rescinded the fire ban was because of the recent cooler temperatures and precipitation that the area was experiencing.
Their statement also made sure to mention that they still are encouraging the public to make sure that they’re careful anytime that they partake in any fire related outdoor activities.
The fire centre also said that the number to call if you see any kind of wildfire or an open burning violation of some kind is 1-800-663-5555 or just 5555 on a cell phone.
