With more than 260 wildfires currently raging accross the province, BC has extended its state of emergency.
In a statement yesterday, Public Safety Minister Mike Farnworth said that the province is taking every step to ensure the safety of residents.
He issued travellers to stay away until the situation improves, extending the state of emergency to at least the month’s end.
Rain and cooler temperatures are expected to help battle some of the most aggressive fires, but the Wildfire Service says that may only be temporary.
