Canada’s Federal Government will be investing 4.3 billion dollars in Indigenous Community Infrastructure projects, beginning this year.
Over the course of the next four years, the money will be spent address critical infrastructure needs in Indigenous communities.
The Indigenous Community Infrastructure Fund is set to invest more than 2.7 billion in on-reserve First Nations, nearly 200 million in to off-reserve communities, and an additional 18 million to specifically support northern communities.
The investment is part of a greater plan to address the large gap in infrastructure between Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities by 2030.
