One man says he suffered a broken ankle after alleged excessive actions by the R-C-M-P during a series of arrests at Fairy Creek.
The arrests came on the one-year anniversary of the start of the blockades to defend what protesters say is some of the last old-growth timber on south Vancouver Island.
Mounties say they were in the area, but hadn’t made any arrests since last Thursday.
Police say the roadways blocked by protesters now pose a risk to first-responders in case a wildfire breaks out.
