B-C politicians and the provincial health officer are trying reassure residents as a third heat wave descends on several parts of the province.
Health Minister Adrian Dix says they’re kicking the ambulance, health care and emergency management response into high gear.
Those who aren’t able to move to cooling centres, including the elderly or those who have impaired mobility are at greatest risk, and neighbors, family and friends are urged to check on people.
Heat warnings have been posted from Vancouver Island to the southern coast and right up to the North Coast, while smoky skies bulletins remain up for much of southeastern B-C.
