There was some good news in yesterday’s Cariboo Fire Centre update. The Purdy Lake Wildfire, which is currently burning inside the Kluskoil Lake Provincial Park, is now classified as ‘being held’ and is not considered a wildfire of note anymore.
The 8,100-hectare lightning-caused wildfire has been around since the early part of July. No areas were evacuated because of the fire, but some areas did get put on alert.
And despite the blaze no longer being listed as a wildfire of note, the members of the fire service will still be working to hold the line.
Currently two other wildfires of note are active just north of the Purdy Lake Wildfire, nearby the Prince George Fire Centre.
