The Government of Canada has created a plan, via Budget 2021, to set businesses on a path for long-term growth, and to ensure that Canada’s future will be not only be healthier, but more equitable, greener, and more prosperous as well.
The Government of Canada is looking to build a more focused, locally informed approach, putting the people first to help foster innovation, business growth, and resilience in urban, rural, and Indigenous communities.
For the first time in more than 30 years, the Government of Canada will enhance its federal economic development presence and services in Western Canada by making two new regional development agencies for BC as well as the Prairie provinces.
This approach will recognize that economic drivers and conditions are different in the two regions, and entrepreneurs, innovators, institutions, and communities have their own unique needs linked to their location.
