The BC Wildfire Service gave an update on the Cariboo Fire Centre saying that some Planned ignitions on the Flat Lake wildfire’s north side were done successfully yesterday.
Crews stayed on the site overnight and a guard system has been created using heavy equipment on the west side of the fire that is burning near Gustafsen Nielson Road.
Work on the southwest corner of the 39,584-hectare fire’s perimeter will be continuing today.
Also an evacuation alert for the Bonaparte Plateau area has been become an order.
Unfortunately, no significant change has occurred on the Canim Lake fire recently, but increased activity is expected to happen within the fire’s perimeter considering that this weekend is supposed to have warmer temperatures.
