The City of Quesnel is sending out a reminder to residents that they need to be prepared in the event of a wildfire threatening the city.
While there is no threat to the city at the moment, wildfires are burning across BC, causing many evacuation alerts and orders to be put into effect, including for areas such as 100 Mile House, and near Nazko First Nation.
Quesnel linked to their evacuation route plan, emergency preparedness page and Prepared BC to the city’s website. They are also encouraging residents to sign up for their emergency alert system.
If an evacuation order is issued, residents are required to leave the area immediately so make sure to have things such a med kit, important papers like insurance and several changes of clothes ready to go.
