Premier John Horgan says he’s confident British Columbians will remain safe if Canada reopens the U-S border to non-essential travel next month.
Horgan notes the province has a high rate of COVID-19 vaccinations with about 80 per cent of eligible residents receiving their first dose and about 50 per cent fully vaccinated.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau suggested yesterday that fully-vaccinated U-S citizens could be allowed to resume travel to Canada in about a month’s time despite concerns in the U-S about a rise in cases of the Delta variant.
Horgan says he’s confident science is ruling the day and that there will be a shift in the border reopening if the government sees evidence that it’s needed.
