An interim report released today by the Transportation Safety Board had no conclusions on the cause of the wildfire that devastated the Village of Lytton last month.
The T-S-B began investigating the possibility that a freight train could have been linked to the disaster based on information received from police and the B-C Wildfire Service.
The report says investigators have more video to review and have asked for comprehensive information from C-P and C-N Rail in an investigation that could take two years to complete.
Safety board chair Kathy Fox says the wildfire is a wake-up call to consider precautions needed by railways during extreme weather.
