Environment Canada has issued a special air quality statement for much of central and eastern B-C warning of smoke from wildfires burning across the province.
The weather agency says smoky skies will stretch from the Interior of B-C to Yukon and the Alberta boundary for the next few days.
Doug Lundquist of the Meteorological Service of Canada says the smoke is coming a month earlier than usual.
He’s advising B-C residents to be prepared for smoky skies to linger into the fall.
