The R-C-M-P say their investigation into the cause of the wildfire that raced through the Village of Lytton is focused on an area that provides access to a foot and rail bridge across the Fraser River.
Police say they are concentrating on a parking lot and park area that provide access to the bridge as they look for all movements of people, vehicles and train traffic around the time the fire started on June 30th.
They say investigators have completed a “fulsome search” of an area near Lytton that is about one kilometre in radius as well as another area in the nearby community of Boston Bar.
The Transportation Safety Board is conducting a separate investigation into the possibility that a freight train set off the fire, running parallel to the R-C-M-P probe.
