Donations from Quesnel have made their way to B.C.’s Interior, to help out the firefighters struggling to contain the dozens of wildfires in the area.
Keri Osha, Adrianna Alec and Joely Paul were the ones that personally delivered these donations.
Their original plan had been to travel directly to Merritt and drop the donations off at the emergency response center which is now overwhelmed with support.
Instead they had to make a five-hour journey to deliver a truckload of blankets, towels, bottled water, non-perishable food, lozenges, toiletries and more all donated by community members to firefighters.
Paul and Alec are part of the Indigenous Student Committee at the Correlieu Secondary School, where Osha works as an Indigenous support worker.
