The Nisga’a Nation has entered into a collaborative endeavours agreement into the assessment of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) facility in the Nass area.
The announcement was made by President Eva Clayton in a message sent out on March 12. The Nisga’a Nation will be working with Western LNG and Rockies LNG Partners to advance an LNG project named Ksi Lisims LNG.
This is the initial agreement to evaluate and collaborate towards development in a way that respects the Nisga’a Final Agreement and the priorities of the community. There will still be many more months of dialogue to formalize a final agreement.
The proposed location for the project is 15 km from the village of Gingolx.
