The City of Quesnel is planning on rebranding.
The plan is to rebrand away from the “Gold Pan City” to something that would have a broader appeal to today’s workforce. The City says in a statement the new strategy is bringing new people to the city to see what Quesnel has to offer.
Part of this rebranding strategy will see the city focus more on their natural strengths, including the waterfront that makes up the heart of the city. Quesnel has been successful in obtaining grants to develop components of the plan this spring and summer, specifically to see upgrades to the walking bridge and the Fraser River portion of the Riverfront Trail. As well as building an RV Park and camping area along the Quesnel river.
Last week council approved the funds to conduct a feasibility study for another component of the Water Front Strategy, which is the possibility of having a whitewater park in downtown Quesnel.
