Both the break and enters occurred in the early morning hours of February 15. The first happened at 2:50 a.m. at Walk-Rite shoes located at 1249 4th Ave.. Police were notified by security that the front door was broken into and a hole large enough for a person could be seen. Police went to the location within 10 minutes of receiving the call but did not locate anyone. Security personnel stated they saw a person dressed in all black riding a bicycle in the area but did not know if the suspect was involved. There was $200 cash from the till taken and possibly some shoes.
The second break and enter occurred at 3:07 a.m. at Surplus Herby’s located at 1175 2nd Ave.. Witnesses told police that a person was smashing the front-side glass at the store. Officers went to the scene but did not locate the suspect. Several air rifles were taken from the location. Surveillance at the location showed a male wearing, black balaclava, camouflage green jacket, dark coloured pants and thick, light brown and yellow mittens.
