RCMP in Prince George are investigating a rural structure fire.
On February 15, just after 5 a.m., RCMP received a request from Prince George Fire Rescue Service for assistance at a rural property on the 5000 block of Purdue Road. When officers arrived they found a detached shop fully engulfed in flames. Police say the homeowner stated they put out a smaller fire located underneath the front deck of the home. The homeowner was home alone at the time.
Police are investigating the fire as an arson. There are currently no suspects. RCMP are asking anyone with camera footage of the road between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m. to contact police if they find any unusual activity in the footage.
