RCMP in Quesnel say they have a man in custody following 911 call about a domestic dispute.
On February 12 at around 9:30 p.m., RCMP responded to the report of a man who allegedly pointed a handgun at a female during a dispute. Prior to police arriving on the scene the man attempted to leave in a vehicle but lost control and went into a ditch a short distance away. During a search of the area the suspect was found hiding in a chicken coop. He was taken into custody without issue.
RCMP, with the assistance of Police Dog Services recovered, a loaded 9 mm handgun which was located next to a bag that contained an assortment of drugs and $4,710 in cash. The drugs are suspected to be over 250 grams of methamphetamine, 100 grams of meth mixed with fentanyl, and 23 grams of crack cocaine.
31-year-old Julian Wade Page of Surrey, B.C. was charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a firearm while prohibited. Further charges are pending as the investigation continues.
