Naomi Bracken said her son, Joshua Benson, was driven to the hospital by his supervisor after experiencing severe chest pains at work which she said he has never had before. Due to Covid-19 restrictions the supervisor was not permitted to accompany him into the hospital. Benson then phoned Naomi and a friend drove her to Kitimat where she waited at the supervisor’s home.
He remained at the hospital for about 8 hours, after being given pain killers he was asked to leave stating they could find nothing and asked him to leave. He was walking up the hill to his bosses place, he died halfway there and RCMP found him by the side of the road.
In an interview, she said she wants to see racism at the hospital stop.
Bracken wrote a letter to Health Minister Adrian Dix hoping for her sons file to be reviewed.
