A small amount of diesel fuel spilled into Cuisson Creek after a transport truck left the highway near Quesnel.
At approximately 8:45 am, a transport truck was travelling south on Highway 96 near Church Rd when the trailer jackknifed and entered the ditch on the east side. The truck travelled approximately 200 meters down a steep embankment before colliding with a tree.
The truck and trailer did not roll over however, the fuel tank ruptured and leaked diesel into the Creek. The Ministry of Transportation and the Ministry of Environment have been notified of the spill.
The driver was taken to hospital with minor injuries by ambulance. The investigation is currently ongoing.
