The funding is coming through the Community Gaming Grants. Since 2017, the capital project sector has helped 285 not-for-profit organizations in 92 communities buy equipment and make renovations essential to their operations. Prince Rupert is receiving $89,187 in funding for the facility.
In a news release, North Coast MLA Jennifer Rice said, “Here in the North Coast, indoor sports are a very important way for people to stay connected and stay active year-round. This funding from the province will allow more people in Prince Rupert be part of a fun and supportive athletic community through gymnastics.”
There are a total of 53 local not-for-profit organizations around B.C. that will be receiving support from this Grant Program.
