At 12:19 p.m. on January 6, RCMP officers received an abandoned 911 call to a residence on the 1600 block of 11th Ave. Information given to officers of a possible robbery attempt with a firearm prompted a call-out to the North District Emergency Response Team and RCMP Police Dog Services to assist with the situation.
Frontline members of the scene found a handgun and a box of ammunition outside of the residence in plain sight. Officers obtained a search warrant for the home. Once inside the home, officers located and seized two loaded and prohibited firearms, two imitation firearms, illegal body armour, several boxes of ammunition, scales, a small amount of drugs, cash, various edged weapons and some stolen property.
Police in Prince George are familiar with this residence, as it was already the subject of a recent CDSA search warrant executed by Prince George RCMP’s Downtown Safety Unit. The investigation is in its early stages and police may release further information as it becomes available.
