On the morning of Oct. 7, officers were contacted by a local school administrator after a child reported a man had asked her to get into his truck, while on her way from school the previous day.
According to the child, she had been walking alone in the area of Proctor Street and 3rd Ave. between 3 and 3:30 the previous day, when a man in a truck called her over and told her to get into his vehicle. The child did not comply and ran home however did not immediately report the incident.
The truck is described as, red and shiny with grey or silver stripe on the door, appeared to be brand new or recently washed, runs quietly and is large. The man is described as, heavy, in his thirties, fair to medium skin, with red, black and blue tattoos believed to be on his arms, short dark brown to black hair, moustache and spoke with no accent.
Currently there are no links between this incident and one that took place in Quesnel this week. If you have any information you’re asked to contact Williams Lake RCMP.
