District of Kitimat water system under Water Quality Advisory

The District of Kitimat is currently under a Water Quality Advisory.

Northern Health is recommending that children, the elderly, pregnant women and persons with weakened immune systems drink boiled water.

All owners of public premises must make patrons aware of the advisory. The advisory is being issued to all those that use the Kitimat Community Water System due to elevated turbidity levels in the Kitimat River.

There is currently no evidence of increased risk to water users, and additional testing is being conducted.
