On Sunday, Sept. 6, just after 1 a.m., a Fort St. John RCMP officer observed a vehicle with a burnt out tail light leave a local residence and conducted a traffic stop. During the stop the driver was arrested on an outstanding warrant for theft. Following the arrest, police searched the vehicle and located suspected methamphetamine. Two passengers along with the driver were arrested for possession of a controlled substance.
With the information gained from the traffic stop RCMP were able to obtain a search warrant for the residence the vehicle departed from. Police located additional persons at the residence and seized an additional small amount of suspected drugs, cash and items consistent with packaging drugs for distribution.
Police are asking anyone that has information in this matter to contact RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
