Six Public Lifeline volunteers are being recognized for their exceptional contributions to emergency and disaster response through the province.
Normally these awards would be handed out as part of National Volunteer Week in Apr., due to Covid-19, it’s now virtual. Mike Farnworth, Minister of Public Safety and Solicitor General is recognizing the recipients through a video greeting.
Farnworth said in a state, “These are the people who ask for no recognition, but instead leave their families, their friends, their homes and their own lives at any time of day or night, regardless of weather, to help others in their time of need.”
The award winners are from a select few among thousands of volunteers.
The award winners are from all around the province including locally to the north in Smithers.
