Evans Farms marks 100 years and becomes the latest recipient of the Century Farm Award.
The family originally moved from from Shrewsbury, England, to Doe River, just north of Dawson Creek. When they arrived the family started farming, they owned cows and grain crops at the time. William passed away in 1947 and the farm was continued by Dorothy and son Bill.
Today the farm is a cow-calf operation that operates on more than 850 hectares of land. The sixth generation of family has just attended their first branding’s at the family farm. Each Century Farm Award celebrates the rich heritage of farming and ranching families and organizations in B.C.
