A fatal motel fire that took place in Prince George last week is believed to be arson.
Last Wednesday RCMP and the local Fire Rescue were called out to a motel on the 900 block of Victoria St. Three people were found deceased after the fire was extinguished.
On July 11., Prince George RCMP located and arrested a suspect as part of the investigation. The suspect was subsequently released without charge, pending further investigation. Police are not able to comment at this time, however necessary steps are being taken in the interest of public safety.
The Prince George RCMP’s Serious Crime Unit has also opened a Criminal Negligence investigation after reports that the fire alarm did not sound.
