As more rain continues to fall across the north and another rainfall warning is issued for the Peace Region and Fort Nelson the threat of rivers flooding is always present.
The River Forecast Centre continues to maintain a flood warning for the Upper Fraser River including its tributaries and the Quesnel River. However, flood warnings have been upgraded to flood watches for a number of locations including, the Northeast, the Peace Region, Middle Fraser including areas around Williams Lake and 100 Mile House, Chilcotin River and tributaries and the mainstem of the Fraser River.
Over the past day rainfall amounts between 30 and 80 mm has fallen with roughly 10 to 30 mm more expected to rain today. The public is advised to stay away from rivers and potentially unstable riverbanks during these high-streamflow periods. The B.C. River Forecast Centre continues to have all the updates regarding flood warnings and watches.
