The run is to raise awareness and end violence against Indigenous women and girls. To date, there is approximately 30 Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls across Highway 16.
This year’s run is a little different, starting in Prince Rupert each runner will do 10km. Running through Smithers, the Nass Valley and finishing in Terrace on Sunday. Since this year’s run is virtual the run has been extended to Williams Lake.
Runners have signed up from as far away as Missouri, Red Deer Alberta, Toronto, Vancouver, Victoria, Vernon and Prince George. You can find more information at the Tears to Hope Society’s webpage along with a video of the run.
