Effective today, the minimum wage is going up in B.C.
Minimum wage is going up to $14.60, the minimum wage for liquor servers, resident caretakers and live-in camp leaders will also be increasing. Previously in 2018 the government committed to raising minimum wage through yearly increases.
For general minimum wage this is a $0.75 increase, for liquor servers this is a $1.25 increase to $13.95 per hour. Resident caretakers minimum wage per month is increasing to $876.35 for nine to 60 units and $2,985.04 for 61 or more units. For live-in camp leaders the minimum wage per day has increased to $116.85 which is an increase of 5.4 per cent.
This increase of minimum wage is the third of four planned increases on the way to at least $15 an hour.
