Manners can take you a long way in life, but this is probably pushing it to the extreme,
Quesnel RCMP say a man armed with a shotgun entered the Kersley General Store last Wednesday, December 11 and demanded money.
Police say the staff member “politely told” the would-be robber that he could not have money and then escorted the suspect from the store.
Mounties say the man complied and left without incident.
The suspect is described as stocky, 5’10”, wearing a brown jacket, black pants, and a toque that partially covered his face. He headed south on Highway 97 in a vehicle that was parked near the store.
The staff member took a courageous stand against this robber. However, it would be the recommendation of the police for employees to comply with the demands during an armed robbery,
says Sgt. Richard Weseen. Whether it is cash or property that the would be thief if attempting to steal, it is not worth your safety, or possibly your life to take a stand.
About an hour after the Kersley store incident, the McLeese Lake General Store was robbed by a man with a shotgun. RCMP believe both events are connected and the investigations are still ongoing.
