Prince George RCMP are warning business owners about a spike in commercial break and enters.
Investigators responded to 17 reports of business B&Es in the city between August 4th and August 12th.
In most cases, glass doors were smashed to gain entry, the suspects specifically targeted cash drawers, and all of the incidents happened between midnight and 4 a.m.
Police say a Ford F-series pick-up and F-series van were also stolen during separate incidents around the time of the break-ins. Mounties say attempts to steal three Ford Excursions from locations near some of the break-ins were also made.
RCMP can’t confirm all these incidents were committed by the same suspects, but say the similarities mean that likely most of them were.
Police are urging businesses, including professional offices, to secure or remove any cash before closing for the day, and to install a high quality video surveillance system.
Contact Prince George RCMP or Crime Stoppers with any information.
